2016 will definitely go down in history as a historic year for our country and world. Sentiments around the globe are favoring a change in direction from the ideas and governance of the past several years. This has been met at times by fear and also by jubilation. In the UK, they are finding that Brexit may take longer than expected given its complexities with Europe. In the US, President-elect Trump, while initially seeming unprepared for the transition of power, has been ahead of his predecessors in picking his team and lobbying for his agenda. Careful preparation is setting the table for change around the world.
Ashland Partners will be entering our 25th year in business in 2017. With over 850 clients in 23 countries, 2016 will close out our best year as a business. In the past 12 months we have invested internally and received several outside audits including a financial audit, an ISO 27001 certification, and a clean peer review from a CPA firm. We have invested heavily in technology and now provide better tools like the Ashland Assist program to make the verification process more efficient for our clients. Data security and confidentiality remain our top priorities and this year we migrated over to our own client information transmission portal.
GIPS, accounting and auditing standards, and cyber security will change drastically in the next few years. Our professionals are taking more continuing education and getting involved in the industry and associations to stay on top of the changes so that we can keep our clients updated. In the coming year you can expect more content and guidance to help you make better business decisions.
These preparations will help you navigate the changes in the industry that we will see in the coming years. As always, we want to thank our clients and friends in the industry for employing Ashland Partners as your trusted advisor and wish you a prosperous 2017!
